Carbon Reduction Commitment Workshop

Are you concerned about the complexity and constantly changing nature of the Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) legislation? This workshop is designed for all organisations affected by the CRC and those with the responsibility for compliance or tasked with reducing liabilities under the scheme. Places are limited to 8 people per event to maximise the interactive sessions and facilitate networking, so we recommend booking early to avoid disappointment.

How you will benefit

Based on our experience of advising numerous UK organisations on their liabilities under the scheme and developing carbon reduction strategies, we have developed the CRC workshop where in one day you will:

  • Learn about the latest changes to the scheme and what impact that will have on your participation
  • Understand what you need to do to comply with the CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme on an ongoing basis
  • Understand the consequences of participation for your organisation including financial implications and reputational risks
  • Learn how to calculate your regulated emissions and produce the required reporting
  • Learn how to develop an effective reduction strategy and gain internal support for emission reduction projects

Why now?

By July this year you will have to complete a series of reports accurately calculating and reporting your carbon emissions from April 2010 – April 2011 or face a £80,000 fine. There are also penalties for inaccurate reporting. There will be a publicly published league table of participants.

From April 2012 you will have to pay a carbon tax of £12 per tonne of CO2 emitted so you have a limited period to reduce emissions as far as possible to minimise the tax paid.
