Strada rollouts out iC analytics to control energy use following successful pilot
Strada is to utilise Carbon Statement’s iC analytics platform across its estate to control and reduce energy consumption following a successful pilot.
Energy use was reduced by over 20% in a number of the pilot restaurants through identifying and targeting energy waste which had occurred through operational and maintenance practices.
Despite energy being one of the highest operational costs, unlike labour and stock its usage is largely uncontrolled across the sector. Given the complexities of identifying where energy waste is occurring across many different sites and the challenges of engaging operational teams, Strada are using iC analytics from Carbon Statement as specialists in the sector.
Achieving the piloted results will also improve Strada’s ranking within the Hospitality Sector Carbon Reduction Forum (HSCRF) energy benchmark. This measures the relative efficiency of over 25 of the major operators in the sector and demonstrates the impact on operational margins.
Jackie Freeman CFO of Strada said; ‘We are always looking at ways to maximise our resource efficiency and energy is a major controllable cost. iC analytics helps us identify where energy waste is occurring as it uses Hospitality specific metrics and provides the restaurant teams with actionable information. As a result we’re confident we’ll achieve the piloted results across our estate and improve profitability whilst also minimising our environmental impact.’
